Meta Signs New AI Content Deals With Major News Publishers
………….
Meta has entered into a series of commercial data agreements with several major news organizations to enhance its artificial intelligence services, the company said on Friday, Reuters reported. The partnerships include outlets such as USA Today, People Inc., CNN, Fox News, The Daily Caller, the Washington Examiner and France’s Le Monde. Under the agreements, Meta’s AI assistant will be able to deliver “real-time” news responses by directing users to articles and websites from these publishers.
The move comes as Meta seeks to expand the reach of its AI tools amid intensifying competition from tech rivals that are also investing in advanced models and signing content licensing deals. The company said users asking news-related questions will now receive information drawn from a broader range of sources. Meta, which has faced criticism over the performance of its Llama 4 model, is continuing to invest heavily in AI and plans to add further partnerships and features. Terms of the agreements were not disclosed.
