Emerging research highlights Generation Alpha, born between 2010 and 2024, as a cohort poised to reshape culture, education, and social structures worldwide, the Shia Waves reported. According to the McCrindle Research Center, their global population is expected to exceed two billion by 2025, making them the largest generation in history.

Unlike previous generations, Generation Alpha is “born digital,” with 66% of children under five regularly using tablets and over 80% of 8- to 12-year-olds watching online videos weekly, Pew Research data shows. Cognitive patterns differ markedly: studies from MIT’s Media Lab indicate their average attention span for a single task is just 7–12 seconds, with learning driven by interaction, imagery, and pattern recognition rather than linear reading.

Edelman Barometer analysis finds that this generation places less trust in formal institutions, relying more on online communities and small social networks. Exposure to the COVID-19 pandemic, economic instability, and climate crises has fostered a pragmatic mindset, prioritizing effectiveness over ethical considerations.

AI integration is widespread, with Ipsos reporting that 43% of families use artificial intelligence in education, positioning it as a collaborative learning tool. Experts predict that by 2030–2045, Generation Alpha will redefine work through automation, transform education via AI-based coaching, and influence political structures toward functionalism, potentially reshaping the global social and political landscape.
