EU Expands AI Infrastructure with Six New ‘AI Factories’
————————————-
The European High-Performance Computing Partnership Initiative (Euro HPC) announced plans to establish six new Artificial Intelligence (AI) Factories across the bloc, backed by a significant investment, according to Anadolu Agency.

The new AI Factories will be hosted in Czechia, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Poland, Romania, and Spain. The expansion will be supported by an investment exceeding €500 million ($578.6 million) from the EU and its member states.

The Spanish factory will also feature an experimental platform for developing and testing innovative AI models.

These six sites will join 13 previously chosen locations, forming an interconnected network of AI hubs. The primary goal is to expand Europe’s high-performance computing capacity and accelerate the use of AI in key sectors. Euro HPC stated that this expansion reinforces Europe’s position as a global leader in AI and ensures that solutions can be developed, tested, and scaled within a “digitally sovereign European ecosystem.”
