Google Pledges $1 Billion to Advance AI Education in U.S. Universities
MOUNTAIN VIEW, CALIFORNIA – Google has committed to a new three-year initiative, investing $1 billion to bolster AI education at over 100 U.S. universities and non-profit institutions. The program, which was announced on Wednesday, August 6, will provide funding and access to advanced AI tools, including the premium version of Google’s AI chatbot, for research and instruction.
James Manyika, Google’s Senior Vice President, stated that the company intends to extend the initiative to all accredited non-profit universities in the United States and is currently in talks to launch similar programs internationally.
The initiative is seen as a strategic effort to address the growing skills gap in the digital economy by providing the next generation of students and researchers with access to state-of-the-art AI technology.
