Google Unveils Genie 3 AI ‘World Model’ in Step Toward AGI
…………………

Google has introduced Genie 3, an advanced AI “world model” designed to simulate realistic environments for training robots and autonomous systems, The Guardian reported. Developed by Google DeepMind, the technology can generate interactive scenarios from text prompts, enabling rapid changes such as adding obstacles or altering landscapes.

Potential uses include warehouse simulations for robotics and virtual experiences like skiing or walking by a lake. DeepMind describes world models as a crucial step toward artificial general intelligence (AGI), where AI could perform a broad range of human-level tasks. However, Google says Genie 3 remains in development and has no release date.

Experts note such models could improve decision-making in robots and enhance large language models by allowing them to explore simulated worlds. The announcement comes amid growing AI market competition, with OpenAI also hinting at progress on its next model, GPT‑5.
