G42, an Emirati AI company, and Microsoft launched the Responsible AI Foundation, the first of its kind in the Middle East, Arab News reported. The foundation aims to establish responsible AI standards and best practices across the region and the Global South, supported by Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence.
In conjunction with this initiative, Microsoft announced the expansion of its AI for Good Lab in Abu Dhabi. Inception, an affiliate of G42, will lead the foundation’s programs, focusing on two main areas: research into AI safety methodologies and bias mitigation, and the implementation of frameworks for the ethical deployment of AI systems that consider cultural diversity.
