The 15th of Shawwal marked the anniversary of the Battle of Uhud and the martyrdom of the Honourable Hamza, peace be upon him, the loyal and esteemed uncle of the Holy Prophet, peace be upon him and his family.
Hamza, the son of Abdul Muttalib, was one of the bravest men of Arabia and a courageous champion and officer of Islam. He supported his nephew, the esteemed Prophet, peace be upon him and his pure family, the religion of Islam, and the message entrusted to him, never faltering in defense of the Prophet’s faith, even in the most difficult circumstances.

The leaders of the Quraysh and the prominent figures of that tribe were in fear and dread of the Honourable Hamza’s might and bravery.
He fiercely protected the Prophet during critical moments in Mecca from the dangers posed by idolaters, and no one had the strength to resist him.
In Islamic history, two great figures are known by the title of “Master of Martyrs”: Hamza ibn Abdul Muttalib and Hussein ibn Ali, peace be upon them both.
Due to his high faith and illustrious history in supporting Islam and defending the Messenger of God, the Honourable Hamza was always favored and respected by the Prophet.
The Commander of the Faithful and other Imams, peace be upon them, have boasted of their kinship with Hamza in their arguments against opponents.

The 15th of Shawwal also marks the anniversary of the passing of Abdul Azim ibn Abdullah al-Hasani, known as Abdul Azim Hasani, Shah Abdul Azim, and Sayyid al-Karim.
He is a descendant of Imam Hasan Mujtaba, peace be upon him, with his lineage tracing back to him through four generations.
According to historians, Sayyid Abdul Azim was a scholar, ascetic, devoted worshiper, and one of the great narrators and trusted figures among the Shia of his time.
The praises bestowed upon him by the infallible Imams, peace be upon them, reflect his scholarly character and reliability.
His burial place and shrine are located in the city of Rey, part of Tehran, which is a site of significance for Shia Muslims.
Based on historical accounts of the birth and passing of Sayyid Abdul Azim, he lived during the lifetimes of five Imams from the Ahl al-Bayt, peace be upon them, namely Imam al-Kazim to Imam al-Askari.
