Shiites Mourn Martyrdom Anniversary of Sayyida Ruqayyah on 5 of Safar al-Ahzan by Holding Majalis

The feast ceremony of Sayyida Ruqayyah, peace be upon her, commemorating the martyrdom anniversary of this noble lady, was held in different cities of Iran, including Mashhad, Qom, and Kashan.

This ceremony was attended by a large number of mourners and lovers of Ahl al-Bayt, peace be upon them.

Today evening, a similar ceremony will be held in the sacred Shrine of Sayyida Ruqayya bint Al-Hussein, peace be upon them both, in Syria, with the efforts of pilgrims which will be attended by her devotees.

Likewise, Bayn al-Haramayn will host the ceremony of Sayyida Ruqayyah, peace be upon her, to commemorate her painful martyrdom, as in previous years, which will be attended by pilgrims and Karbala-residing devotees of Aba Abdillah al-Hussein, peace be upon him.

These ceremonies, which are attended by young girls as a tradition, feature symbolic mourning elements and refreshments, lamentation performances and enactments, during which mourners shed tears of grief over the painful loss of the beloved daughter of Sayyid al-Shuhada, peace be upon them both, who was martyred on such a day in the ruins of the Levant.
