Researchers Develop Revolutionary Blood Test for Chronic Fatigue Syndrome
———————————–
A new blood test developed by researchers from the University of East Anglia and Oxford Biodynamics can diagnose Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS) with 96% accuracy, offering hope to millions worldwide affected by the debilitating, long-term condition.

According to SciTechDaily, the breakthrough uses cutting-edge EpiSwitch 3D Genomic technology to examine how DNA folds within blood samples. This method identifies unique “epigenetic markers”—changes that occur during a person’s life, unlike fixed genetic code—that are consistently present in individuals with ME/CFS but absent in healthy people. This finding dispels the notion that the illness is “all in the head” and offers the first simple, reliable diagnostic tool for a condition that has long lacked one.

Researchers hope the technology will not only transform diagnosis and lead to earlier patient support but also pave the way for a similar blood test to accurately diagnose Long COVID, which shares a similar cluster of symptoms triggered by a viral infection.
