Imam Al-Shirazi called on the World Health Organization to supervise the sterilization of refugee camps and prisons.
The organization started its statement with the saying of Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib, peace be upon him: ” A person is either your brother in faith, or your equal in humanity.”
It stated in the statement, “The international community is facing a global health crisis that is extremely dangerous and harmful, threatening the lives of millions of people on the globe, and requires worldwide solidarity to counter it and prevent it from causing huge losses.”
It added, “As it turns out, coronavirus has become an existential threat to the human race, and predictions indicate the danger of it turning into a deadly global pandemic. Some gatherings lack the simplest means to confront the infectious diseases, as is the case in displacement camps and prisons in various countries of the world.”
The Foundation continued, “That challenge represents without a doubt the necessity of a high sense of responsibility by the relevant international organizations and governments to extend a helping hand and fight the virus urgently without delay, and at the forefront of those organizations is the World Health Organization, as it is the most capable, largest and most informed body in combating epidemics and diseases at the level of the international community.”
