Grand Ayatollah Shirazi: The demolition of al-Baqi graves is one of the greatest sins and we must fulfill our responsibility towards it
The Supreme Religious Authority, Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Sadiq al-Husseini al-Shirazi, reiterated his position on the tragedy of the demolition of al-Baqi graves, describing it as one of the biggest sins and crimes today.
On the occasion of the International Day for the Demolition of the al-Baqi Graves, His Eminence said: “The demolition of al-Baqi and the bombing of al-Askariyain Holy Shrine are among the biggest sins today, and we must fulfill our responsibility towards them.”
His Eminence added, “Everyone, in every place, should seize the opportunities and convey the oppression of the Imams of al-Baqi, peace be upon them, to the entire world.”
The Grand Ayatollah had called in previous years to revive the “International Baqi Day” to recall the heinous crime that befell the pure graves of the Imams of the Ahlulbayt, peace be upon them, stressing the importance of the world knowing the extent of the crime that befell the sanctities of Muslims by misguided Wahhabi gangs.
