Grand Ayatullah Najafi Office Announces Date of Annual Fatimiyya Procession in Najaf al-Ashraf

The office of Grand Ayatollah Sheikh Bashir al-Najafi has announced the date of the annual grand Fatimiyya procession in Najaf al-Ashraf. The procession will take place on Sunday, 13 Jumada al-Awwal 1448 AH, at 7:30 a.m., with the participation of Grand Ayatollah al-Najafi, alongside a large gathering of scholars, distinguished members of the Hawza Ilmiyya, and believers.

According to the announcement, the procession will depart from the office of Grand Ayatollah al-Najafi in Najaf al-Ashraf and proceed toward the holy shrine of Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib, peace be upon him. The event will commemorate the martyrdom of Lady Fatima al-Zahra, peace be upon her, with mourners offering condolences on this solemn occasion, in accordance with the narration that she was martyred 75 days after the passing of her father, the Holy Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him and his family.

Organized annually by the Najafi office, the Fatimiyya procession is among the religious observances upheld by followers of Ahl al-Bayt, peace be upon them. It reflects their devotion to the Prophet’s household, their remembrance of Lady Fatima al-Zahra’s suffering and distinguished status, and their commitment to preserving the values of the divine message.
