The highest religious authority, His Eminence Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Sadiq al-Husseini al-Shirazi, affirmed that reviving the Muhsiniyah Days, like other religious rituals, is not dependent on the existence of a similar historical precedent. He emphasized that actions rooted in Islamic principles and foundations are legitimate and acceptable.
This statement was published on the website of His Eminence’s office on the occasion of the Muhsiniyah Days, marking the anniversary of the martyrdom of Sayyid Muhsin, the son of the Commander of the Faithful and Lady Fatimah al-Zahra (peace be upon them).
His Eminence stated: “Just as the Muhsiniyah Days, like other religious rituals, do not require historical evidence; according to the established principle: ‘We must adhere to foundational principles,’ every action grounded in Islamic principles and foundations is legitimate and acceptable, even if it does not have a parallel in previous eras.”
In his discourse on the injustices faced by Lady Fatimah al-Zahra (peace be upon her) and the martyrdom of Sayyid Muhsin (peace be upon him), Al-Shirazi pointed out that Lady al-Zahra (peace be upon her) remained steadfast in her mission and offered the greatest examples of sacrifice and altruism along this path.
His Eminence stated: “Lady al-Zahra, peace be upon her, stood firm in fulfilling her mission and sacrificed herself and her noble son, Sayyid Muhsin, peace be upon him, in this path,” explaining that this sacrifice represents “the pinnacle of altruism and the true criterion for fulfilling responsibility in the school of Ahlul Bayt, peace be upon them.”
He called on the believers to feel their responsibility in conveying Lady al-Zahra’s (peace be upon her) message to the world, and to contemplate the extent of their efforts in introducing her life, sacrifices, and her injustices.
Al-Shirazi emphasized the importance of employing various means in this regard, affirming that disseminating the message of the martyred Lady (peace be upon her) and introducing her martyrdom require organizing activities, implementing media projects, and issuing publications. He invited everyone to participate in these efforts according to their abilities and capabilities.
