Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Sadiq al-Husseini al-Shirazi has emphasized that the visitation of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) and Husseini rituals should not be subjected to restrictions or obstacles, stressing the need to facilitate pilgrims’ access to the holy city of Karbala and allow them to participate in the Arbaeen ceremonies safely and freely.

The religious authority stated that Husseini rituals represent an essential part of the Islamic community’s identity and its connection with the path and teachings of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him), highlighting their unique spiritual status and the importance of supporting and preserving them.

Grand Ayatollah Shirazi said: “The visitation of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) should not be restricted by any limitation or condition; the Husseini rituals are exempt from such restrictions.” He added that any measures or actions preventing believers from performing this religious observance or hindering their arrival at the pilgrimage site carry serious responsibility before God Almighty.

He also warned those who obstruct people from participating in the Arbaeen pilgrimage, stating that officials who prevent pilgrims through barriers or by closing routes will be held accountable for their actions before God.
