Grand Ayatollah Shirazi Calls for Global Promotion of Husseini Movement

Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Sadiq al-Husseini Shirazi has renewed his call for mobilising all available resources to promote the message and objectives of the Husseini movement worldwide, stressing the importance of keeping its values alive and ensuring their global reach.

In brief remarks published on the official website of his office, coinciding with the beginning of the holy month of Sha’ban and the anniversaries of the births of Holy Prophet’s Pure Family Members, his Eminence urged followers to take responsibility for commemorating Imam Hussein and to avoid negligence in fulfilling this duty.

He emphasised the need to utilise financial, linguistic and written capacities in service of the Husseini cause, calling on individuals and institutions to dedicate their efforts to preserving and spreading the legacy of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him).

The Supreme Marja also underlined that Husseini gatherings and commemorations should not be confined to a single city or location. He called for careful planning and sustained efforts to expand these gatherings across cities and countries, in order to broaden the impact of the Husseini message.

According to Grand Ayatullah Shirazi, the values embodied in the Husseini movement—such as justice, freedom and opposition to oppression—carry universal human significance. He has consistently stressed that promoting Hussayni rituals and teachings globally can help strengthen awareness, reform-oriented thinking and moral responsibility across different societies.
