Grand Ayatollah Shirazi Outlines Religious Ruling on Hostility Toward Ahl al-Bayt
————————————–
Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Sadiq Hussaini al-Shirazi stated that individuals who are considered Nasibi—those who show hostility toward the Holy Prophet’s Pure Household, the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them)—are regarded, under Islamic jurisprudence, as having the legal status of unbelievers.

The remarks were made during the His Eminence’s regular scholarly session held on Tuesday, 8 Sha’ban 1447 AH, during which he addressed questions from attendees on various jurisprudential issues, as he does in his ongoing daily lectures.

In his response, Grand Ayatollah Shirazi explained that enmity toward the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) places a person outside the fold of faith according to established Shiite legal doctrine. He referenced Ziyarat Ashura, noting that those described as Nasibis are counted among the enemies of God and His Messenger.

He further stated that this ruling is supported by widely transmitted religious narrations and is addressed in classical jurisprudential texts, including al-Urwat al-Wuthqa, particularly in sections dealing with ritual impurity and rulings related to non-believers.

The Supreme Marja added that there is scholarly consensus among Shiite jurists on this issue, underscoring its established position within Islamic legal tradition.
