Grand Ayatollah Sheikh Bashir al-Najafi has called for the development of religious discourse and for strengthening its role in serving society, stressing the importance of preserving core values while responding effectively to contemporary challenges.

The remarks were made during his meeting with a cultural delegation at his office in the holy city of Najaf.
