Grand Ayatollah Shirazi Highlights Link Between Knowledge of God, Recognition of Infallible Imam

Senior Shia Religious Authority Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Sadiq al-Husayni al-Shirazi has emphasized that true knowledge of God is inseparable from recognition of the Holy Prophet and the Immaculate Imams of the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them), stressing the central role of the infallible Imam in completing this understanding.

In remarks published on the official website of his office to mark the birth anniversaries of the Ahl al-Bayt at the beginning of the holy month of Sha‘ban, Grand Ayatollah Shirazi stated that knowing God without knowing the Prophet does not constitute full or accurate knowledge. He added that knowledge of God and the Prophet is likewise incomplete without recognition of the infallible Imam, identifying Imam Mahdi (may God hasten his reappearance) as the Imam of the present age.

Grand Ayatollah Shirazi noted that spiritual knowledge has levels and degrees, calling on believers to seek deeper understanding of God, the Prophet, and the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them).

He also reiterated the importance of studying and promoting the life and teachings of the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them), saying their example embodies divine and human values that contribute to building ethical societies and strengthening moral principles worldwide.
