Grand Ayatollah Shirazi Urges Shiite Youth to Promote Alawite Values Ahead of Imam Ali’s Birth Anniversary

On the eve of the birth anniversary of Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib (peace be upon them both), Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Sadiq Hosseini Shirazi has highlighted the role of Shiite youth in conveying the message of Alawite culture to the wider world.

In recent remarks to honour the occasion, the Supreme Marja emphasized that young Shiites hold a central responsibility in preserving and spreading the ethical and humanitarian values embodied in the teachings of Imam Ali (peace be upon him). He said these values form a rich moral and human legacy that should be introduced to societies beyond the Shiite community.

Grand Ayatollah Shirazi stressed the importance of familiarizing different communities with the teachings of the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them), noting that this process should begin with practical application at the local and societal level before being promoted globally. According to His Eminence, embodying Alawite principles in daily life strengthens their credibility and impact.

He further stated that true adherence to Imam Ali (peace be upon him) is achieved through attentiveness to his teachings and adherence to the Holy Quran. Such commitment, he said, can guide young people toward becoming active, responsible, and forward-looking contributors in various aspects of life.

The remarks come as Shiite communities around the world prepare to commemorate the birth anniversary of Imam Ali (peace be upon him) through religious gatherings and festive campaigns.
