Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Sadiq al-Husseini al-Shirazi emphasized that the current practice of Islam significantly diverges from the Islam taught by Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him and his family). In a recent statement, the Grand Marja noted that only the form and name of Islam remain, while the genuine adherence to divine teachings has diminished in many Muslim countries.

Grand Ayatollah Shirazi questioned whether the Prophet would accept the present-day interpretation and application of Islam, suggesting that none of the Muslim states fully follow the Prophet’s example, even minimally. He attributed this gap to both the influence of misleading narratives and the failure of Muslims themselves to implement Islamic teachings properly.

The Supreme Religious Authority called for renewed efforts toward reform and urged believers to strive for genuine adherence to Islam’s principles, emphasizing that such commitment benefits Muslims both in this life and the hereafter.
