The Islamic Scholarly Council of the followers of Ahlulbayt, peace be upon them, in Syria has issued a statement regarding the recent events in Al-Mazra’a village in Homs province, calling for the preservation of national unity and for the situation to be addressed responsibly in a way that protects citizens’ rights and prevents further tension.
The council’s president, Sayyid Abdullah Nizam, said Syria is passing through a sensitive phase that requires unity, dialogue, and joint action to overcome social and economic challenges and restore stability, away from discord and division in all forms.
The statement stressed the importance of the state fulfilling its responsibilities toward all citizens, protecting their interests, and treating them with justice and equality in order to strengthen trust between society and state institutions and preserve civil peace.
The council also emphasized the need for solutions that protect residents’ rights and dignity, saying local issues should be addressed through legal frameworks, in the public interest, and in a way that prevents crises from escalating or tensions from widening.
The statement comes amid controversy over recent developments in Al-Mazra’a village in rural Homs, which have prompted several groups and figures to call for measures that protect residents’ rights and strengthen stability and coexistence among Syria’s different communities.
