Mass Graves Discovered in Rural Homs Containing 16 Unidentified Bodies
……………….
Syrian authorities announced the discovery of several mass graves in Abu Hakfa al-Shamali village, in the al-Mukharram area of northeastern rural Homs, containing the remains of about 16 unidentified people. The graves were found after a local shepherd alerted security forces, according to the state-run SANA news agency.
Mustafa Mohammed, a security official in the area, said six graves were uncovered inside caves, and civil defense teams and forensic experts are working to identify the victims. Forensic doctor Ahmed al-Khalil reported that one cave contained the remains of a man, a young woman, and a child, estimated to have died about ten years ago. Investigations are ongoing, as authorities continue to examine additional sites and recover more remains.
