Syrian Druze Leader Calls for Separate Druze Region

Hikmat al-Hajri, the spiritual leader of Syria’s Druze community, has called for the establishment of a “Druze region” in southern Syria.

According to Anadolu Agency, following the creation of a military force called the “National Guard” in the Suwayda province, al-Hajri urged all freedom-loving people worldwide to stand with the Druze to ensure the region receives permanent protection.

Observers note that al-Hajri does not represent the entire Druze community, and his proposal has faced opposition from other Druze leaders.
