Violence Surges in Syria, Claiming 49 Lives in August
………………
According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, Syria is experiencing a disturbing rise in violence, with a total of 49 people killed in August due to assassinations, kidnappings, and other crimes. The victims, which include 46 men and three children, were caught in a wave of sectarian and security-related tensions.
The Observatory documented numerous incidents, including direct shootings and abductions that ended with bodies being found in various locations. The report highlights that these acts, which also include family-related crimes, have deepened the state of lawlessness and pose a significant threat to civil peace in the country.
The Observatory called on relevant authorities to bring the perpetrators to justice immediately, warning that the continued rise of such crimes could lead to further social divisions and a complete security breakdown.
