24 killed across Syria amid ongoing violence and security chaos

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights has documented the deaths of 24 people across Syria within just 48 hours, underscoring the deepening security crisis and widespread violence affecting civilians.

On Sunday, May 26, nine people were killed, including three civilians who died in explosions caused by war remnants and grenades. One civilian was murdered in a criminal incident, another was assassinated by unknown gunmen, and three others died in suspected revenge killings.

By Monday, May 27, the toll had risen to 15, including six civilians—three of them children and one woman—killed in violent attacks, along with a child who died due to an explosive remnant. Four others, including a woman, were also killed in suspected retaliatory assassinations, while three armed men, including an ISIS member and a fighter from the “National Army,” were also killed.

The Observatory called for international accountability and urgent protection for Syrian civilians, amid ongoing instability and the deadly legacy of war.
