US Conducts Air Strikes Against ISIS Camps in Syria

On Friday, October 11, US Central Command announced a series of air strikes targeting multiple known ISIS camps in Syria, France 24 reported.

The operation aimed to disrupt ISIS’s capacity to plan and execute attacks against the United States, its allies, and civilians in the region. The strikes were part of ongoing efforts by the US military, which maintains approximately 900 troops in Syria as part of an international coalition established in 2014 to combat ISIS.

The coalition has faced increasing threats, with anti-ISIS forces targeted by drone and rocket attacks amid escalating violence related to the Israel-Hamas conflict. In September, US forces conducted two strikes in Syria, resulting in the deaths of 37 terrorist operatives, including members of ISIS and the Al-Qaeda affiliate Hurras al-Din.
