Pakistani TV channel: Karbala represents the strength and determination of mankind, and the day of Ashura is one of the greatest sacrifices

The Pakistani television channel, Baaghi TV, published, on its official website, an editorial in which it emphasized the immortal role of the Karbala incident and the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Hussein bin Ali, peace be upon him, in the course of human history.

At the beginning of its article, the channel mentioned one of the most famous statements in history about Imam Hussein, peace be upon him, by the Indian philosopher and the second president of the modern Republic of India, Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, when he asserted that “although Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) had sacrificed his life nearly 1,300 years ago, his indestructible spirit still rules people’s hearts today.”

The author of the article, Mian Harun Masoud, cited a group of sayings in the Indian subcontinent about the virtue of the Master of Martyrs, peace be upon him, including the poem composed by the Pakistani poet “Josh Malih Abadi”, in which he said, “Let humanity wake up to the truth…and all nations will see that Al-Hussein is their king,” stressing in the context of the article that “the sacrifice of Imam Al-Hussein, peace be upon him, is for all groups and sects, and an example of the path of righteousness.”

Masoud also quoted the late Pakistani writer, revolutionary leader and Prime Minister, Jawaharlal Nehru, as saying that “Karbala represents the strength and determination of mankind, while Ashura represents one of the greatest sacrifices made by Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) and his family, as there were no battle or war in Islam as deadly as this one.”
