Senior Pakistani Taliban Commander Killed in Army Operation

Qari Amjad, a senior commander of the Sunni extremist group Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), was killed in a recent military operation by Pakistani security forces, the Shia Waves Persian reported.
Amjad, also known by the alias Mufti Muzahim, was killed early Thursday morning during a security operation in the Bajaur district of Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, according to Pakistani news outlets.
He had been designated as a Specially Designated Global Terrorist (SDGT) by the US Department of State in November 2022, due to his involvement in organizing and directing cross-border attacks targeting security forces and civilians.
The Pakistani army has not yet issued an official statement, but sources indicated that the operation was part of ongoing counterterrorism efforts in the tribal border regions, where TTP militants remain active despite years of military campaigns.
