Car Bomb Attack in Quetta Kills Eight, Injures Several
…………….
A powerful car bomb exploded outside a paramilitary security compound in Quetta, southwestern Pakistan, on Tuesday, killing at least eight people and wounding several others, according to local authorities. Police said four attackers inside the vehicle exited before the blast and engaged in a firefight with security forces, during which all four were killed.
Witnesses reported hearing the explosion from a distance, while ambulances rushed victims to nearby hospitals. Provincial Health Minister Bakh Kakar warned that the death toll could rise due to the severity of the attack.
No group immediately claimed responsibility, but officials noted that separatist militants frequently target civilians and security personnel in Balochistan, of which Quetta is the capital. Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti condemned the assault, praising security forces for swiftly neutralizing the attackers.
