Bihar Hindu Chief Threatens Elderly Muslim Couple Over Rearing of Cows

A Muslim couple in Gopalganj’s Panchdevri block was allegedly harassed and threatened by a local Hindu leader and his associates while transporting cows they had purchased for rearing, Clarion India reported.

The accused, identified as Pradeep Maurya, falsely accused the couple of cow smuggling and threatened them. A video of the confrontation, which was recorded by the accused, has gone viral on social media.

The incident highlights concerns about religious profiling and vigilante behavior in rural Bihar, as the couple was engaged in the legal practice of animal husbandry. Authorities in Gopalganj have not yet commented on the incident.
