Mob Attacks Muslim Men in UP; Assaults Police Station After Cops Refuse to Hand Over Rescued Victims

Based on a report from Clarion India, a mob in Etah, Uttar Pradesh, attacked two Muslim men, Fahim and Firoz, whom they mistook for thieves on Friday night. The men were rescued by a police patrol and taken to the Nayagaon police station.
A large crowd then gathered outside the station, demanding that the two men be handed over. When police refused, the mob began pelting stones, damaging a police vehicle. Additional forces were called in and used tear gas to disperse the crowd.
According to SP Rajkumar Singh, the two injured men were medically examined and are in stable condition. Police have registered a case against five named individuals and 50 unidentified people in connection with the incident. Heavy police presence has been deployed to the area, and the situation is now under control.
