A young Muslim man, Hasnain, was reportedly brutally assaulted by a group of individuals identified as members of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Bajrang Dal in Kasganj, Uttar Pradesh, Clarion India reported. The attack occurred near Mallah Nagar village after the mob accused Hasnain of carrying banned meat.

According to a report, the attackers, which included two named members and six unidentified individuals from the Bajrang Dal, surrounded and beat Hasnain in broad daylight. Eyewitnesses stated that the assailants did not wait for official confirmation on the contents of the bag but instead began their assault while shouting religious slogans and filming the incident.

Police from the Soron police station arrived on the scene and rescued Hasnain, taking him to a hospital for medical treatment. The meat found in his possession was sent for laboratory testing. Following the incident, an FIR was filed against the attackers. However, this led to outrage and a sit-in protest by Hindu organizations, which demanded the withdrawal of the complaint. At the time of the report, no arrests had been made. Hasnain, the victim, was also taken into police custody for questioning.
