A drone strike in Pakistan’s northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province on Saturday resulted in the deaths of five children and injuries to at least twelve other civilians, including women and children, Khaama Press reported. The attack reportedly targeted a residential home in the Wana Langar Khel area of Lakki Marwat district.

Witnesses at the scene confirmed that civilians were inside the house when it was hit. Local residents assert that the drone belonged to the Pakistani military and maintain that all victims were civilians with no connections to militant groups.

Despite the civilian casualties, Pakistani authorities and state-affiliated media have reportedly remained silent on the incident, leading to frustration and mistrust within the affected community. The tragedy underscores the devastating human cost of drone operations and has renewed calls for greater transparency, accountability, and enhanced measures to protect civilians in such conflict zones.
