In a significant move to revive tourism in Kashmir after the tragic Pahalgam terror attack, eight judges from the Punjab and Haryana High Court are visiting the valley with their families, Muslim Mirror reported. The visit aims to send a strong message that Kashmir remains a safe and welcoming destination for tourists.

The Pahalgam attack on April 22, allegedly carried out by Pakistan-backed Lashkar-e-Kashmir terrorists, resulted in the deaths of 26 civilians, including 25 tourists and a local pony owner who died protecting them. The incident triggered nationwide outrage and led to Indian military strikes on terror infrastructure in Pakistan, followed by retaliatory shelling that killed 18 civilians and damaged numerous civilian properties.

The judges’ itinerary includes visits to the Mughal Gardens of Nishat and Shalimar, Shikara rides on Dal Lake, and exploring local markets. Their presence has already encouraged a gradual increase in tourist bookings, offering hope to local tour operators and hotel owners that tourism in Kashmir will soon recover and flourish again.
