Tensions flared in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, on June 3 when a Muslim bus driver and cleaner were assaulted by a mob over suspicions of transporting beef, Muslim Mirror reported.

The incident occurred near Amrala village on Bhojpur-Pilkhuwa Road around 9 PM. Members of Hindu Yuva Vahini and Bajrang Dal, led by Neeraj Sharma and Madhur Nehra, acted on a tip-off alleging the truck carried beef.

The mob intercepted the vehicle, found meat, and vandalized the truck. The driver, Imran, and cleaner, Waseem, were beaten while bystanders chanted inflammatory slogans. Despite police presence, violence escalated, and the truck was set on fire. Reinforcements from Modinagar and Niwadi police stations eventually controlled the situation. Firefighters extinguished the blaze with help from JCB machines.

ACP Gyanprakash Rai confirmed meat samples were sent for laboratory testing, with results pending. No FIR has been filed yet. The driver and cleaner were detained for questioning. The incident highlights rising vigilante violence linked to cow protection, raising concerns about law enforcement and due process.
