Balochistan Levies Crack Down on Corruption: 62 Personnel Suspended

Balochistan Levies has suspended 62 personnel—including senior officers, constables, and drivers—for allegedly soliciting bribes at checkpoints across 18 districts, Dawn E-paper reported. The action, ordered by Director General Abdul Ghaffar Magsi, follows persistent complaints from truck drivers and travelers.
A notification confirmed the suspensions, citing a “zero tolerance policy” against corruption. Among those suspended are risaldars, naib risaldars, and drivers from districts like Qila Abdullah, Khuzdar, Zhob, and Chaghi. DG Magsi stated, “No corrupt individual will remain in the force,” emphasizing stringent measures for proven allegations.
Dr. Mir Wais Khan, appointed inquiry officer, will investigate and submit findings within 15 days. The crackdown targets systemic corruption, particularly at highway checkpoints, where bribes disrupted trade and travel.
This marks Balochistan’s largest anti-graft action in recent years, aligning with broader efforts to restore public trust in law enforcement. Authorities warn of further suspensions if misconduct is uncovered.
