Security Operations, Community Unity Efforts in Kurram Amidst Ongoing Challenges
In Kurram, a comprehensive clearance operation is underway to restore peace and security, resulting in the recovery of a significant number of illegal weapons, Shiite News reported. Conducted jointly by the civil administration, police, and security agencies from January 19 to 21 in the Bagan area, the operation reflects a commitment to addressing local unrest and ensuring safety.
According to a peace agreement established among local parties, strict measures will be enforced against any future misconduct. The district administration has stated that the operation aims to eliminate miscreants from the region. Notably, the renovation of a mosque in Bagan and the initiation of a cleaning campaign signify growing cooperation between residents and authorities.
In addition to these efforts, officials have indicated that supply convoys will soon be restored, enhancing security for local citizens. Meanwhile, a meeting of the Balochistan Milli Yakjehti Council (MYC) in Quetta emphasized the need for addressing grievances related to resource distribution and the ongoing blockade affecting Parachinar residents, which has led to food and medicine shortages.
Leaders have called for a spirit of respectful co-existence among Shia and Sunni communities to foster harmony and resolve ongoing issues in Kurram.
