Pakistan: Five Terrorists Killed in Balochistan Infiltration Attempt
Security forces in Balochistan’s Zhob district killed five terrorists attempting to cross the Afghan border, Dawn Newspaper reported citing the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR). The incident occurred in the Sambaza area during the early hours of Sunday. The ISPR described the assailants as members of the Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), referring to them as “Khwarij.”
Tensions between Pakistan and Afghanistan have escalated due to frequent border skirmishes, with Pakistan urging Kabul to take action against TTP militants operating from Afghan territory. The ISPR emphasized the need for effective border management by the Afghan government to prevent terrorism.
This incident follows previous attempts to infiltrate Pakistan, including last month’s thwarted infiltration into Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, which resulted in the death of four terrorists and a Pakistani soldier. Army Chief General Asim Munir reiterated the desire for improved relations with Afghanistan, contingent on addressing the issue of cross-border terrorism.
