Muslim Leaders Sound Alarm Over Humanitarian Crisis in Parachinar
The Majlis Wahdat-i-Muslimeen (MWM) and Jafria Alliance have raised alarms over a humanitarian crisis in Parachinar, Kurram district, where the majority of victims are from the Shia community, Dawn Newspaper reported.
During press conferences, leaders condemned the escalating violence and alleged that a specific anti-Pakistan group is inciting chaos in the region.
Allama Sadiq Jafari of MWM highlighted that the provincial government shares responsibility for the ongoing killings and the blockade affecting food and medical supplies. Over 50 children have reportedly died due to a lack of medicine amid this crisis.
Jafria Alliance leader Allama Syed Razi Jafar Naqvi criticized the government’s insensitivity and warned that the situation poses a serious threat to national security. Both organizations called for immediate action to restore peace and urged the government to ensure the safety of all communities in Parachinar, emphasizing that sectarian intolerance threatens the fabric of Pakistani society.
