Tragic Bus Crash Claims Lives of 3 Pakistani Pilgrims in Iran
A bus carrying Pakistani pilgrims crashed into a truck in southern Iran late Sunday, resulting in the martyrdom of at least three individuals and injuring 48 others, Arab News reported yesterday. The accident occurred on the main road between Neyriz city in Fars province and Sirjan in Kerman province, attributed to a technical failure in the brakes and the driver’s inability to control the vehicle.
This incident marks the third road accident involving Pakistani pilgrims in less than a week. Just hours before, two separate bus accidents in Pakistan claimed at least 35 lives, with the first tragedy occurring when a bus fell into a ravine, killing 12. Hours later, another bus accident in Punjab resulted in 23 fatalities. The surge in pilgrim travel is linked to the Arbaeen commemoration, drawing thousands of Shiite Muslims to Iraq. Pakistani leaders have expressed condolences and called for improved medical care for the injured.
