Amnesty International Calls on Germany to Support Afghan Refugees in Pakistan

In a statement released on July 17th, the organization highlighted that approximately 3,700 Afghan refugees in Islamabad are awaiting transfer to Germany, alongside an additional 15,000 individuals still in Afghanistan who are in contact with the German authorities.

The organization expressed alarm over potential budget cuts in Germany’s 2025 budget, warning that such reductions could hinder the processing of Afghan migrant cases. This concern arises as Germany has recently rejected numerous applications from Afghan migrants following violent incidents, raising fears about the fate of those who were promised acceptance.
