Pakistan: Deadly Blast Hits FC Vehicle in Quetta, Killing 1
A Frontier Corps (FC) driver was killed in a roadside bomb blast in Quetta’s Akhtarabad area on Saturday, Dawn Newspaper reported. The FC vehicle was on routine patrol when the explosion occurred, critically injuring the driver. He was rushed to the Bolan Medical Complex Hospital but succumbed to his wounds.
According to the Quetta police, the blast was caused by around 4 kilograms of explosives. Authorities immediately responded to the scene, with a heavy contingent of police, bomb disposal squad, and FC forces cordoning off the area for investigation.
Balochistan has seen a rise in terrorist incidents, with 6 such attacks recorded in June alone, resulting in 4 deaths and 14 injuries, as per the Pakistan Institute for Peace Studies.
