Two Terrorists Killed in Shootout with Pakistani Police
Two terrorists, including one in police custody, were killed in a shootout with the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) in Peshawar, the capital city of Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, Xinhua reported yesterday.
According to a CTD statement, the incident occurred when police raided a hideout based on information provided by the detainee during the investigation.
Upon reaching the location, the suspects opened indiscriminate fire on the police. In the ensuing exchange of gunfire that lasted 25-30 minutes, a terrorist and the detainee were killed. The remaining suspects managed to flee the scene, while police recovered arms and ammunition from the hideout.
The incident highlights the ongoing efforts by Pakistani authorities to combat terrorism in the region.
