Pakistan Launches Second Satellite with China’s Support
Pakistan’s space agency, SUPARCO, successfully launched its second satellite in a month from a site in China’s Sichuan province on Thursday, VOA reported yesterday.
The new satellite, PakSAT-MM1, is a high-power multi-mission communications satellite designed to provide a range of services, the news agency added.
According to SUPARCO, PakSAT-MM1 was developed with advanced communication technologies and will play a pivotal role in Pakistan’s socio-economic development.
The satellite is expected to improve the country’s communications system, enhance e-commerce, economic activities, and e-governance when its services are launched in August.
This launch marks the 524th flight of China’s Long March series of carrier rockets, underscoring the longstanding space cooperation between China and Pakistan, which dates back to 1990.
