Major Blast at LPG Shop in Hyderabad Injures at Least 50
A powerful blast ripped through an LPG cylinder filling shop in Hyderabad’s Preetabad area on Thursday, leaving at least 50 people, mostly children, with severe burn injuries, Dawn reported yesterday.
The explosion occurred at a ground-floor shop in the Zacha Bacha hospital area, causing a fire that spread to the upper floors where the property owner’s family resided, the source mentioned.
According to the Pakistani online newspaper, rescue teams and firefighters rushed to the scene and transported the critically injured to Liaquat University Hospital. Hospital officials confirmed that 16 people with over 90% burn injuries were later shifted to Karachi for advanced treatment.
