A UK monitoring group has reported a surge in hate crimes targeting Muslim places of worship, with at least 22 mosques attacked or threatened over the past three months — the highest number recorded in any quarter since Tell MAMA was founded in 2011. The organization’s director, Iman Atta, said the incidents highlight rising anti-Muslim sentiment and urged stronger measures to safeguard worship spaces.

Meanwhile, Sussex Police arrested four suspects in connection with an arson attack on a mosque in the town of Peacehaven, describing it as a “shocking” incident that caused major property damage but no injuries. The suspects have been released on conditional bail pending further investigation. Prime Minister Keir Starmer condemned the attack, while Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood called for unity against hatred and extremism.
