New Wave of Explosions in Lebanon Martyrs 20, Injures Over 450 Amid Escalating Conflict with Israel

More explosions rocked Lebanon on Wednesday, following a deadly pager attack the previous day, several news agencies reported.

Walkie-talkies and solar devices detonated in Beirut and other areas, resulting in the martyrdom of at least 20 and injury of over 450 individuals, according to Lebanon’s Health Ministry.

The attacks, believed to be carried out by Israel targeting Hezbollah, have raised fears of an escalating conflict. Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant announced a “new phase” in the war, emphasizing the need for determination.

The blasts occurred during a funeral for victims of the earlier attack, which killed at least 12, including two children, and injured around 2,800. Many casualties were civilians, highlighting the indiscriminate nature of the violence affecting Lebanon’s Shiite community.
