Israeli attacks displace 100,000 in Lebanon since October, PM says
Around 100,000 people have escaped their homes in southern Lebanon due to Israeli raids since last October, with 313 people killed and 1,000 injured, Anadolu Agency reported.
According to caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati, approximately 800 hectares of farmland were destroyed, 340,000 livestock killed, and 75% of farmers lost their source of income.
The government is urged to declare the southern region an agricultural disaster zone, he said during a Cabinet session in Beirut.
Tensions have escalated along the border between Lebanon and Israel, with intermittent exchanges of weapons fire between Israeli forces and Hezbollah.
