Kashmir: 2010 sectarian clashes bring Shia leader Aga Syed Hassan Mosavi to court

The top Shia leader and President of the Jammu and Kashmir Anjuman Sharie Shian Association appeared before the court in Bandipora, Kashmir Life reported.

The local court had issued a warrant to Aga Syed Hassan Mosavi Al-Safavi in connection with a First Information Report about sectarian clashes that erupted in 2010.

Meanwhile, Politicians and religious leaders have appealed to the administration to withdraw the FIR against the Shia leader, citing his prominent role in maintaining law, order and communal amity.

The Shia religious leader was exempted from future hearings in relation to the case.
