Female Doctor Suspended for Not Attending Independence Day Event
————————————
A female government doctor in North Kashmir’s Bandipura district has been suspended for failing to attend the Independence Day event. According to a report from Muslim Mirror Network, the suspension order was issued by the Chief Medical Office (CMO).
The order states that Dr. Sabia Salam, a medical officer at District Hospital Bandipura, failed to report for her scheduled duty on August 14, which “adversely affected patients.” The letter also notes that she “did not participate in the Independence Day celebrations” on August 15 without informing her superiors, which was deemed a “disrespect and disregard for the National event.”
The CMO invoked Rule 31 of the Jammu & Kashmir Civil Services (Classification, Control, and appeal) Rules, 1956, and Article 128 of the J & K Civil Service Regulations to suspend her immediately. Dr. Salam will be placed under the Head of the Ophthalmology Department and will receive a subsistence allowance while an inquiry is conducted.
